IDEAcon and TCEA Virtual Conference Extravaganza - Coming to A Screen Near You This February 2021

I think Charles Dickens could have been talking about this year. I don't need to tell anyone that remote teaching and learning has been a challenge, but this challenge also led to new ideas and new ways of getting stuff done. In the long run I am hopeful that teaching and learning will be in a better place.

Educational Conferences have needed to adjust and this has led to some incredible learning experiences for educators across the world. Don't get me wrong, I've missed being able to attend face to face conferences this year. While I've had the chance to attend several great virtual conferences this year, it isn't quite the same. I really miss the unscripted and learning experiences that happen so often happen when groups of educators get together in the same physical space.

The new generation of virtual conferences has provide access to presenters and resources that cost and geography has limited in the past. These virtual conferences have truly opened doors to learning experiences that were out of reach for many educators in the past.

The new generation of virtual conferences has allowed educators around the world to collaborate and learn like never before.

One example upcoming example of this new generation of virtual conferences is the collaboration between IDEA (Illinois ISTE Affiliate) and TCEA (Texas ISTE Affiliate). Here is a brief description of the conference from the IDEA website.

IDEAcon is excited to team up with TCEA's Convention & Exposition this February to provide expanded virtual learning opportunities and new ways for educators to grow their professional learning networks.

This innovative conference offers more than three weeks of programming. Live sessions begin with six days of conference programming February 1–6, 2021. Additional learning opportunities will continue throughout the next two weeks. Finally, our month-long conference experience will culminate with more conference sessions and keynotes, plus the IDEAcon Exhibit Hall, February 22–24, 2021. Attendees will benefit from the expertise and powerful networks of both these organizations worry-free, and at their own pace. Find out more at bit.ly/IDEAcon
