Each day I will explore new teaching and learning resources and share one of my topic takeaways for the day. Hopefully, I won't let you or myself down!

Today, I wanted to share something I discovered from Karly Moura while exploring my Twitter stream. The topic today is using digital escape rooms to engage students in content as they collaborate and practice problem-solving skills.

I've spent some time during our Spring Break reflecting on the school year and thinking about what's next and this led to a new challenge. I am feeling inspired to plan and create 30 new posts in 30 days during the month of April. Each day I will explore new teaching and learning resources and share what I discover each day. Hopefully, I won't let myself down!

Supporting the 4Cs in Learner-Centered Classrooms

My "why" for teaching and learning is centered on how the 4 Cs can be used to support student growth and engagement in my classroom. I believe skills connected to creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration must be skills that students practice throughout the process of learning. 

I have long believed that my content should support the development of student skills connected to the 4 Cs of collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity.

Developing a Future Ready Classroom With the 4 Cs

Future-ready classrooms need to do more than just "teach" content to learners. I am not saying that content doesn't matter, but I believe that our education system can do a better job using content to engage students in building and practicing essential skills. Instead of teaching content, use content to help students develop essential skills connected to learning and real life. 

Creativity is the foundation of most lessons and activities I design for my students. I try to be mindful that everything I create for my students needs to start with the idea that creating needs to be part of the learning process. In addition to creativity, I also place a high value on the related skills of collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.

I believe a focus on the 4 Cs not only helps my students learn, but it also helps my students practice essential life skills as we engage in and explore our content.

Today I want to share some resources we've curated to support the 4 Cs. We've also organized a free document that could be used to engage staff in some self-paced professional development opportunities connected to each of the 4 Cs.
