Last week I rebooted my post, "Educational Conferences - Know Before You Go". Today I wanted to narrow the focus to some of the most interesting conferences I've started to explore for 2023. This is by no means a complete list, but I've included the ones I've seen on social media that seem to be creating some buzz with presenters and attendees.
Today, I wanted to share some conferences that might be worth exploring and attending. Most have both in-person and virtual options.
While it is possible for teachers to learn by connecting to online educational organizations and teachers in their own buildings, I still believe there is no substitute for attending at least one face-to-face conference each year.
I know there are many incredible content area conferences, but if I am going to invest my time I prefer conferences that have a broader focus.
If I had unlimited time and a big enough budget, I would love to attend as many conferences as I could. I will at least be exploring the hashtags for each of these during the conference. Please share anything I am missing in the comments below.
Below are some of the conferences I am excited about to start exploring in 2023. If you are looking for more, be sure to explore this incredible conference resource created by the Learning Technology Center.

EdCampMadWI: sites.google.com/sunprairieschools.org/edcampmadwi/home
If you haven’t heard of EdCamps, they are what many educators say are the most meaningful professional development they have ever received. Why is that?
Attending an EdCamp is unique. Participants are empowered to propose their own session ideas and to learn from each other about topics that are meaningful and relevant to each individual educator. They are sometimes focused on educational technology, sometimes on pedagogy, on educational leadership, on literacy, on struggling learners, or on any topic that is timely and meaningful to attendees. Each EdCamp is different because the attendees are different. Sessions are not proposed until that morning. Many of the sessions will involve educators sitting around, sharing their best ideas, and collaborating with others both in and outside of their own school districts. In addition, EdCamps tend to draw the best and brightest educators, because they are done outside of school hours, often on a Saturday. Thus, each teacher is essentially donating their time, because they know that what they will learn will reap huge dividends in the classroom.

In addition to K-12 educators, we welcome school/district administrators, and office staff, as well as those working in Higher Education too!
