Adobe Express - Exploring Creative Lessons, Ideas, and Activities

Adobe Express (formerly Adobe Spark) has been one of my favorite resources to help my students engage in creating. We've used graphics, videos, and pages multiple times the last several years to engage in creating as part of our learning experience.

This post will start with a brief overview of Adobe Express features. The rest of the post will focus on the creative resources connected to the Adobe Education Exchange, a great place to be inspired.
Even if you choose not to or are unable to use the platform, there are some great ideas shared in the Adobe Education Exchange to get students creating as they learn with any resource.

Adobe Express is free for teachers and students and this page has the details needed to get started, Adobe Express for Education. There is also a free plan for non- educational accounts and several paid options.

Adobe Express Quick Actions

The Quick Access Features support editing for images, videos, and documents.

Adobe Express Projects

The project resources in Adobe Express allows users to create graphics, short videos, and interactive websites. Photo, video, or web projects can be created from scatch or users can start from the vast template library. The interface is intutive without too many extra features that often confuse students.

Instead of a traditional final exam this semester my students will be creating explainer videos and a web page using Adobe Express to connect our classroom concepts to the National Park they choose. My favorite part of the activity is students using the the voice over feature in the videos to share their voice.

Adobe Express Education Exchange

The education exchange is probably my favorite component of the Adobe Express experience. The ideas and resources shared often inpsire me to add a new creative aspect to an activity or assessment. Sometimes, I use some of the lesson ideas to engage students without Adobe Express.

Addtional Resources

If you are just starting to explore Adobe for Education or even if you are an experienced user, Adobe has created a some great resources to help educators explore free lessons, projects, and activities. Here are a few more of my favorites

I've also recently been exploring The Adobe and Khan Academy Partnership. It's all about creative storytelling! I love it!

"Perfect for practicing storytelling, building digital literacy, and preparing for career and college success, these FREE lessons and projects extend Khan Academy content with creative activities. Each resource is designed to be flexible, adaptable, and ready for use in the classroom." (Adobe)

I also highly recommend following Adobe For Education (@AdobeForEdu) and Adobe Creative Cloud Express (@AdobeExpress) accounts on Twitter.
