Engage Students in Digital Literacy with Google's Applied Digital Skills Lessons

Digital literacy and competency have become a part of many schools missions and classroom goals. There are many great tools to help educators engage students in these skills. One of my favorites is Applied Digital Skills. The lessons are engaging and help students develop skills they need. 

Google Applied Digital Skills is a free online project based learning curriculum. The lessons engage students  in essential digital skills connected to Google's  Suite for Education Resources. Students have access to short step-by-step video tutorials, that support a variety of activities embedded in each lesson.

Applied Digital Skills is an online, project-based learning curriculum. Each lesson asks students to actively apply their learning of digital skills to help them solve real-world problems. Students watch videos that instruct them step-by-step how to build digital projects from scratch. Students who complete a lesson will have a project that demonstrates their academic learning, such as an infographic or an interactive story, or career readiness, such as a resume or a portfolio. 

Here are a few highlights to get anyone started exploring the lessons. 

• There are is currently a searchable collection of over 200 lessons. 
• Collections brings together groups of lessons around a central theme or topic. 
• The Teacher resources page has a great collection of guides, teacher stories, example projects, and more.
