A quick Google search will bring a wealth of resources connected to Black History Month. Many of these resources can be adapted to a variety of class and grade levels. Today I wanted to share some Google Resources I recently explored connected to the topic of Black History.
2021 Black History Month - Creating lasting legacies
This year Google has organized a collection of stories connected to black owned businesses, arts, future resources, and a nice list of additional resources.
"Generation after generation, Black Americans have pushed society forward, and the stories of these innovators continue to inspire. This Black History Month, we celebrate the lasting legacy of Black pioneers and support the next generation of leaders." - Google
Black History Month: The Journey of Us
Last year Google released this Google Earth Voyager "Black History Month: The Journey of Us". This incredible resource includes over 60 stories to explore that are all tagged by location on Google Earth. The stories are divided into 6 different categories, including; "Journey of Advocacy", "Journey of Business", "Journey of Dance", "Journey of Education" "Journey of Film & TV", and "Journey of Tech". This is definitely a resource worth exploring in February or any time during the year.
Google Arts and Culture Black History Collection
Another great resource worth exploring is Google Arts and Culture Black History Collection. There are some incredible people and ideas represented here.
Black History Moments in Search 2020
In 2020 Google has also created a page connected to the most searched people connected to Black History Month.
